Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, through an Internet account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are able to select the most beneficial ones every time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game give the gambler a chance to increase their wins, in which instance a further game is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
