The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest combination of cards possible in order to win cash. Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to choose the most profitable machine each time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to increase their wins, in which case another round is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
