Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be bet on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, using a net account. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to get the best mixture of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will be "dealt" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to choose the most money-making game each and every time.

After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
