Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be bet on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your PC, using a web account. The rules are very simple and involve the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards possible in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the interaction with other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will then be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the bettor has selected which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be dealt. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from game to game, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to choose the most profitable machine each time.
After the first round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Additionally, some styles of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
